Boofy’s impact on UK club music is defined by his unique approach and dedication to innovation. Emerging from the dubstep and grime scenes in 2013 as part of the Bandulu Records crew, he quickly established his own path with Sector 7 Sounds. This label became a crucial hub for underground bass music, championing fresh talent and pushing the sound forward while staying true to the roots of soundsystem culture.

Boofy’s journey as a producer has been marked by releases on respected labels such as Tectonic, System Music, No Corner, and Innamind. His sound continually evolves, from bass-heavy 140 beats to experimental electronics. His 2024 collaborative album with Jabu’s Amos “VMO$” Childs saw him delve into delicate, meditative tape-loop compositions, highlighting his versatility and artistic depth.

In the mix, Boofy seamlessly blends diverse styles — from electro and 2-step to techno and grime — showcasing his mastery of rhythm and bass. Through his solo project Taekform, he explores even more experimental territory, driven by sub-heavy sound design and unrestricted creativity. Operating entirely on his own terms, Boofy remains a vital force in the ever-shifting landscape of UK bass music.
