Merging Bren's love of gospel, R&B, hip-hop, jazz, & pop, it touched on the different emotions and experiences you encounter during the beginning of your twenties, while conveying an underlying theme of hope and self-love.
Joy takes pride in imperfection, pointing to the raw, organic nature of East Coast artistry as inspiration for his instrumental landscape. He gathers collaborators, namely in the folk, alt and jazz houses, to blend with his Alt-R&B nature. These varying dynamics mimic the different aspects of love Joy explores, each eventually pointing to the importance of self discovery. Love, in any instance––whether a beautiful or difficult experience––ultimately manifests itself as an important learning curve.
