Formed in Sapporo in 2016, CARTHIEFSCHOOL are Tomoya Murosaki (guitar, vocals), Genki Tsusaka (bass) and Yudai Takasago (drums). The trio have emerged from the city’s thriving underground scene alongside bands like Nango and The Hatch.
The band’s frantic, red-hot live performances – including a show-stopping display at last year’s Dosanko Jam festival – have won over audiences both in their hometown and nationally.
Inspired by bands like Pixies and fellow countrymen 54-71, their forthcoming self-titled debut album captures the trio’s razor-sharp post-punk attack at full tilt.
