Carvel is a three-piece Australian rock band that formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 2015. The band consists of Timothy Tanzer (vocals, guitar, piano, bass guitar), Cameron Jang (vocals, guitar) and James Jelliffe (drums, percussion). The band’s musical style primarily consists of rock mixed with elements of alternative, acoustic, pop and funk music. After gaining popularity on their YouTube channel, timandcameronplayingguitar, for their evocative and reminiscent cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘The Sound of Silence’, Carvel took to the studio to record their debut EP, ‘For the Birds EP’ in 2015. Acknowledged by Jane’s Addiction guitarist and former member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Navarro, for their high quality Red Hot Chili Peppers covers, the band developed a cult following in the US, South America and Europe. Carvel released their eponymous follow up 'Carvel EP' in 2018.
