Catherine Graindorge is a violinist, violist, composer, and actress based in Brussels. Since the release of her debut solo album The Secret of Us All in 2012, she has collaborated with a wide range of acclaimed artists including Iggy Pop, John Parish (PJ Harvey), Hugo Race (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), Pascal Humbert and Bertrand Cantat (Detroit), Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, and Mark Lanegan (Jeffrey Lee Pierce Project). She also composes for film, theatre, and dance, earning a Magritte Award nomination for her score for Le Chant des Hommes.
In 2017, she released Long Distance Operators, a collaborative album with Hugo Race on Sub Rosa. Her second solo album Eldorado, produced and recorded in Bristol by the legendary John Parish, was released on Glitterbeat Records (Tak:Til) in October 2021.
In September 2022, she released The Dictator, a four-track EP featuring Iggy Pop on three songs, also on Glitterbeat Records. The following year, in September 2023, she received the Octave de la Musique award for Solo Artist of the Year.
Her third album, Songs for the Dead, was released on April 26, 2024 on Tak:Til (Glitterbeat Records), featuring Simon Huw Jones (And Also The Trees), Pascal Humbert (16 Horsepower, Wovenhand, Lilium), and Simon Ho.
