The Canarsie, Brooklyn singer-songwriter Chelsie Denise encompasses the definition of soul. She incorporates elements of rhythm and blues throughout her music, with powerful vocals, while being inspired by her history with music. Chelsie’s parents are two conscientious Haitian Immigrants, that were determined to provide a life outside of Haiti. By the age of fifteen Chelsie, performed at The Cotton Club where she would further her education in Jazz, and go on to study with Jazz vocalist Melba Joyce. Over the years Chelsie has been inspired by Sarah Vaughan, Wu-Tang Clan, Prince, Erykah Badu, and Lauryn Hill.
