Making the move with his collection of gear from New York City to Los Angeles in the early 00’s, Whirledge signed with Stones Throw Records in 2012 and debuted with <a href="spotify:album:4fZ8wmbNs5OhIBQmocHqvt" data-name="Elemental Themes">Elemental Themes</a>. Not long after, he was invited to perform the live score to the silent classic Metropolis. Bringing <a href="spotify:artist:6jU2Tt13MmXYk0ZBv1KmfO" data-name="Giorgio Moroder">Giorgio Moroder</a>’s score to the public was a cornerstone moment which traces a line to Whirledge’s eventual work as Chrome Canyon when it netted him the role of composer on genre-defying animated series <a href="spotify:artist:1PcontOY3kO0vGS2m44l5V" data-name="Infinity Train">Infinity Train</a>, which ran for four seasons on HBO Max. The score struck a fine balance of retro-futurism that helped garner critical acclaim, and ran for four seasons on HBO Max.
Almost one decade after his debut, Chrome Canyon releases his new album <a href="spotify:album:41KJ1g4Ig3qowHZYB8IwxL" data-name="Director">Director</a>. Describing it as “a soundtrack to an unmade film”, the album is intended to spark vivid, cinematic imagination and encourage the listener to imagine their own silver screen moments.
