Clarence Greenwood PKA Citizen Cope is a beloved American songwriter, recording artist , performer, and music producer raised in Washington D.C. with roots in rural Texas.

Greenwood moved to Brooklyn , NY in the year 2000 where he signed a major record contract and began his professional career , releasing his debut LP , the self titled Citizen Cope in 2002.

Greenwood’s recordings have deeply touched many over the years because of his intimate personal lyrics that range from overcoming individual struggle to exploring socially aware themes that are strongly connected by a deep spiritual thread.
