Born 1964, Dublin, Eire. Buchanan’s family emigrated to Australia in 1970 and settled in Peakhurst, a southern suburb of Sydney. In the mid-80s Buchanan worked in an outback Christian community and then undertook rural labouring jobs. He was discovered by the Flying Emus and signed to ABC Country, a division of EMI Records. He received acclaim as an outstanding singer-songwriter for Galahs In The Gidgee and his stature has increased with subsequent albums. Hard Times is about the problems experienced by Australian farmers and The Measure Of A Man paints portraits of Australian life. Buchanan has also written for Australian country stars Tania and Lee Kernaghan. For more information www.colinbuchanan.com.au
