Conway is Kassia Conway – a singer, writer, and a sayer of things that are on her mind and stuck in her side. She makes music that falls in the Venn-diagram sweet spot between pop and R&B, rock and hip-hop, accessible and arty. Drawing comparisons to Karen O, Debby Harry & M.I.A, Conway’s music has an attitude that pours out with every note & a truthful vulnerability as well.
Conway was raised on the south side of St. Louis. She grew up teaching herself to sing by mimicking a mix of Mary Poppins, Chaka Kahn & The Talking Heads. She snuck into clubs to dance with her music-obsessed mom & as a teen she'd sneak herself in to underground punk and alt shows. For her, mixing music genres began early.
In 2014, the world was introduced to Conway when her self-made video for “Big Talk” went viral. She immediately signed with Columbia Records & toured with Ellie Goulding, St. Lucia & Charli XCX to name a few. She also collaborated with All Saints & Toms Shoes. Her songs have been heard on numerous shows such as Good Girls, Girls, Star Trek Into Darkness, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Revenge, Catfish, The Gambler, What If, MLB video games, The Kissing Booth & more.
After amicably parting ways with Columbia, Conway reorganized & began a new phase. She is now releasing her newest single from her forthcoming EP, “Quality of Life” as an independent AWAL artist. As always throughout her career, Conway is completely hands-on in the creative process - songwriter, musician, producer & more.
