Founded in 1983, The Class Notes are Cornell's original co-ed a cappella group. Originally formed as a jazz ensemble, they've since branched out to sing music by artists from Rihanna to Hozier to Billie Eilish. They are ICCAs 2022 finalists, and have won awards for best soloist at the 2012 ICCA Quarterfinals for Maya Gunaseharan's performance of "Best Thing I Never Had" by Beyoncé, and outstanding arrangement at the 2019 ICCA Quarterfinals for Joey Gerlach and Nick Lee's arrangement of "Japanese Denim" by Daniel Caesar.
