Based out of Springfield, Missouri, The Beartones are Missouri State University's all-male a cappella group.
Founded in 2000, The Beartones have always been a group that's focused on musical excellence, brotherhood, and a shared passion for performing. The group is renowned for their “polished” and “memorable” sets while racking up numerous notable performances across the country.
Currently, there are 12 members in The Beartones and they come from a myriad of backgrounds.
Don't be fooled -- The Beartones have a competitive streak, too. They frequently compete in the ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella) and other festivals such as Voice Jam having consistently placed at these competitions. Many times, they are fortunate enough to take home numerous accolades such as "Best Choreography" the past three years, best vocal percussion, and best soloist. In 2009, the group took first place at their Semifinal round and moved on to compete in New York City placing third Internationally and in 2018 they returned to finals yet again.
