Cristian Basto is a composer musician and an outstanding tango and popular music double bass player of his generation. He has worked with renowned artists such as: Rascasuelos, Quasimodo Trío, Pablo Mainetti, Diego Schissi, Nicolás Guerschberg, Fabulosos Cadillacs, Dancing Mood, Lidia Borda, Susana Rinaldi, Nacha Guevara, Hilda Herrera, Juan Carlos Cuacci, Julieta Laso, La Chicana. He participated as a musician in different Tango-Dance companies such as Mora Godoy, Eleonora Cassano, Miguel Ángel Zotto's Tango x 2, SocialTango and Taco Teco.
He toured the United States, Japan, Canada, China, Italy, Germany, France, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Russia, Spain, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, Switzerland, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Mexico and Costa Rica, performing in emblematic venues such as the Colón Theater in Argentina, the Carnegie Hall in the United States, the Sofia Theater in Bulgaria, the Tropentheater and the De Doelen in Holland, among many others.
