Cuarteto Guataca

Bassist and director <a href="spotify:artist:7kLUXJlgHP3muNOKgd1272" data-name="Josh Levine">Josh Levine</a> got his start in the music business busking in SoHo with <a href="spotify:artist:39VqnFNy7Vp20h76bJvJos" data-name="Ingrid Lucia &amp; The Flying Neutrinos">Ingrid Lucia &amp; The Flying Neutrinos</a> in &#39;93, so when NYC shut down in Spring of 2020, he capitalized on his experience as a street performer and began to play regularly in the parks of New York CIty with longtime colleague, percussionist and sonero, Jainardo Batista.  They were joined by world renowned flutist <a href="spotify:artist:5xhXRA209IaEAQVDM3KzPt" data-name="Itai Kriss">Itai Kriss</a> making his debut on the Cuban trés guitar and María Raquel of <a href="spotify:artist:3iMiGUAFQ3uR13JvT2K6dH" data-name="Maria Raquel y Sus Maravillas">Maria Raquel y Sus Maravillas</a> on vocals and minor percussion.  Before long, they had generated some buzz and venues like Sahadi&#39;s Industry City, Cuba Restaurant and Rum Bar, Swing 46, Guevara&#39;s, Aura Cocina and NoHu Rooftop hired them to play outdoors.  Pianist <a href="spotify:artist:5uQixsBFSN02GEFxs6f8Er" data-name="Gabriel Chakarji">Gabriel Chakarji</a> and Grammy winning flutist and vocalist <a href="spotify:artist:33KZMQECd5v6S2FjRMCctD" data-name="Jeremy Bosch">Jeremy Bosch</a> became staples of the group.  The band is set to release their first full album with original music and covers Summer, &#39;22 and there&#39;s a mini-documentary about Cuarteto Guataca and our experience as performing artists during the pandemic coming also in June, &#39;22 on the PBS All Arts Channel.
