Dahvid Slur, born David Dockery in Trench Town, Jamaica, grew up immersed in the reggae rich environment of Jones Town. Influenced by his parents, his brother and community, he developed his passion for music from an early age. While attending Trench Town High School, he refined his vocal skills in the choir and learned to play the guitar and steel pans. Dahvid's distinctive style blends traditional reggae with a modern twist, as heard in tracks like "Got Me Singing," "Joy," "Stay Alive," and the fan-favorite "Cyah Kill Rasta," a collaboration with the late Jo Mersa Marley from his EP New Age Rockaz.

His music balances optimism with the realities of life in Kingston, resonating with local and international audiences who appreciate conscious lyrics that uplift the soul. Inspired by reggae legends such as Sizzla, I-Wayne, Chronixx, Protoje, Damian Marley, and Bob Marley and the Wailers, as well as heritage artists like Gregory Isaacs and Marcia Griffiths, Dahvid Slur continues to make his mark on the reggae scene with his innovative sound and meaningful messages rooted in the teachings of Rastafari.
