Percussionniste pigiste montréalais, Daniel Bellegarde contribue à la scène québécoise depuis plus de trente ans avec d’innombrables collaborations. Fasciné par l’histoire comme son grand-père d’Haïti, il publie un 1er album solo, Anba Tonèl (2018), qui jette un regard nouveau sur la musique des bals champêtres du terroir antillais. Son travail est récompensé par un Global Music Awards (États-Unis,2018), une nomination aux CFMA (2018) et plus tard aux Independent Music Awards (États-Unis, 2019). Influencé par la musique traditionnelle haïtienne mais aussi par le country et la musique celtique ou brésilienne, l’artiste nous propose un nouvel opus pour l’année 2022. Il nous invite à plonger dans l’univers des quadrilles traditionnels et de ses compositions. Avec une vision personnelle de cet héritage africain-européen, Daniel nous présente le 2e album de sa trilogie des musiques rurales d’Haïti et des Antilles françaises, Pastourelle!
