Daniel Ottensamer is an Austrian clarinetist. He attended the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, studying with Johann Hindler and <a href="spotify:artist:3HmzM7c3S5iM1jBG3gl0FF">Martin Fröst</a>. In 2009, he won the Carl Nielsen International Clarinet Competition, and became the principal clarinetist for both the <a href="spotify:artist:003f4bk13c6Q3gAUXv7dGJ">Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra</a> and the Vienna State Opera Orchestra. With his father, <a href="spotify:artist:1uqscf67Zj76nFwDJPIqRY">Ernst Ottensamer</a>, and his brother, <a href="spotify:artist:2ArlRtVzTxoRTY58C8kA0T">Andreas Ottensamer</a>, he formed a clarinet trio, the <a href="spotify:artist:7DscJLJwCK0zAbjZlageUx">Clarinotts</a>, in 2005. As a soloist, he has performed with the <a href="spotify:artist:7m5yQHpGKbm9YHcUdrZElN">Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra</a>, the <a href="spotify:artist:0epMHcfPfSyf4QArBZCxWX">Munich Radio Orchestra</a>, and the <a href="spotify:artist:3LWi3bcHEo2dPoy0S79nIM">Vienna Chamber Orchestra</a>, among others. He recorded Mein Wien, My Vienna for <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Sony+Classics%22">Sony Classics</a>.
