Veteran pianist Emmanuel Strosser has performed across France and beyond, recording as well an impressive range of solo piano music, four-hand music, and chamber works. He is an influential educator who has taught at the national conservatories of Paris and Lyon.

Strosser was born May 4, 1965, in Strasbourg, France. His grandparents were all amateur musicians, and he recalled family singing at parties and the like. Strosser planned to take up the cello but one day tried out the piano and, as he told Pianobleu, "I haven't stopped since." He took lessons at the Strasbourg Conservatory with Hélène Boschi. At 19, Strosser entered the Paris Conservatory, where he studied piano with Jean-Claude Pennetier and chamber music with Christian Ivaldi, taking unanimous first prizes upon graduating. He rounded out his education by studying with Leon Fleisher, Dmitri Bashkirov, and Maria João Pires. A win at the Florence International Chamber Music Competition and a finalist standing in the 1991 Clara Haskil competition propelled him to a successful career as both a soloist and a chamber music player. Strosser has appeared across France with numerous orchestras, including the Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre de Lille, and the Chamber Orchestra of Toulouse, as well as in the Americas, Japan, and Korea. He is particularly noted for four-hand piano work with Claire Désert and others and has performed with various chamber groups. His repertory inclines toward 19th century German music as well as French standards.

Beginning in 2003 with an album of Fauré's piano quintets, Strosser has released a variety of solo and chamber recordings on the Mirare, Virgin, and Universal labels, among others. In 2020, he moved to Warner Classics for the album Bienvenue en France, recorded with oboist François Leleux. Strosser is a professor of piano at the Paris Conservatory (CNSM) and of chamber music at the Lyon Conservatory.
