The story of the death metal musical project Darkvoid dates back to between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 in the depths of Taormina, Sicily.
Darkvoid was initially conceived as the one-man band of Alessandro Riva, who was previously involved with the thrash/hardcore metal band Howls Of Grey.
Following the publication of multiple singles during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, a vibrant collaboration with Francesco Cucinotta (Felis Catus, Sinoath) and Carmine Prestipino dedicated to one of H. P. Lovecraft’s stories inspires Alessandro to imagine an EP with the work of his favourite horror writer, Lovecraft, as a haunting fil rouge. This time, however, Alessandro realises the destiny of Darkvoid is to evolve into a band with several members: Alessandro as the singer, the drummer Antonio Valentino (ex Howls Of Grey and ex Carboncoke), the guitarists Gabriele Adragna and Riccardo Santoro, and the bassist Peppe Papa (Blacktop Overdrive Experience).
Darkvoid’s first EP, 'The Great Horror', was released on the 15th of March, 2024.
After the break with Peppe Papa, Leonardo Pedicone became the band's new bassist.
The new single, 'I, Malevolence', is out now.
