In the oversaturated and “fake it til you make it” world of rap music, where artists often emulate the trap star lifestyle of their favorite street superheroes, Dash Gwoppo is the genuine article. The Cincinnati native and Big Coin have partnered with BMB Entertainment to release five volumes of songs, 50 total tracks, as a "Gift To The Family". Beginning March 28, 2022, Dash Gwoppo will release a song each day for 50 days.
Born and raised in the Avondale neighborhood of Cincinnati, Dash's desire to be an artist flourished in high school and so did his street dreams. He’d hustle on the corners overnight, but remained in school in order to appease his mother. Dash eventually formed the group Gwopp Boyz. They quickly gained traction, garnering the attention of Universal Motown, but the record deal never materialized. With the record deal in his rear view and the responsibility of providing for his young daughter weighing heavy on his shoulders, Dash returned to the street life he knew so well. Death and jail were his biggest occupational hazards, and Dash eventually fell victim to the latter.
Unlike many others in his situation, Dash came home to opportunity. One of his childhood friends started the record label Big Coin Music while he was away, and took an interest in working with Dash. A tireless work ethic has Dash Gwoppo primed to become one of rap music’s next superstars. With the worst of his days behind him, Dash Gwoppo’s new trajectory is only onward and upward.
