David Kofi

David Kofi is a London-based jazz artist influenced by Gospel, Jazz, R&B, and Neo-Soul.

David’s release titled <a href="spotify:album:6IqIDYb24BdY1nXe2BE68s" data-name="Kokoro">Kokoro</a> , a Japanese word connecting Heart, Mind and Soul, describes the principle that guides his creativity and music. David aims to connect with the listener by pouring himself into his music.

His love for music started when he was introduced to Gospel music at age 13, although he began piano training at age 8.
In 2014, David released his debut EP <a href="spotify:track:6HvQkN8vkHbwmwqiYkLq9o" data-name="Galaxy">Galaxy</a> , comprising of 5 jazz instrumentals &amp; the feature song, &#34;<a href="spotify:track:4mkrSmmn91MQUG5PYHFcv5" data-name="I&#39;ll Follow You (feat. Ethel Baffoe)">I&#39;ll Follow You (feat. Ethel Baffoe)</a> &#34;
In 2016, following the release of the Galaxy, David was nominated for the &#34;best jazz/blues&#34; act at the Unsigned Music Awards in Troxy, London.
2021 followed with a 2 track jazz EP ‘<a href="spotify:album:6IqIDYb24BdY1nXe2BE68s" data-name="Kokoro">Kokoro</a> ’ which featured track 1 <a href="spotify:track:6RIXTEmqC3cJgEjkzkw56E" data-name="Tsuro">Tsuro</a> &amp; <a href="spotify:artist:5FHf0e5ya34Q4nDr1RbITm" data-name="James Mollison">James Mollison</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:5BRAUN0yN8557PLRZIr02W" data-name="Ezra Collective">Ezra Collective</a> ) on track 2 <a href="spotify:track:5KUaHnGUXewa42MC19fnxD" data-name="Shinko">Shinko</a>

In 2022, David released <a href="spotify:album:2kAjeQwvnMYc5ZjVLjLShj" data-name="Kokoro II">Kokoro II</a>.

On Thursday 23rd February 2023, David Kofi headlined the Elgar Room (Royal Albert Hall) &#64;<a href="spotify:album:0BdIiPcbJyMKlbZnwJlSGi" data-name="Live at Late Night Jazz Royal Albert Hall">Live at Late Night Jazz Royal Albert Hall</a>. He returned to the venue in October 2024, with highlights captured in his upcoming live jazz album.
