Dayflower

Dayflower are an indie dream pop band from Leicester, England with a love for gleaming melodies, reverb-drenched guitars, and synthesised scenescapes.

Their debut album <a href="spotify:album:6anU4AWmIROkFzISPwvaDs" data-name="Honeyspun">Honeyspun</a> arrived in 2019 followed by debut 7&#34; <a href="spotify:album:7Jp19VIn8Oa4SbJotB9I96" data-name="Sweet Georgia Gazes (2019 Mix)">Sweet Georgia Gazes (2019 Mix)</a> later that year via New York&#39;s Cloudberry Records with <a href="spotify:album:1Z4cjYt4vqvlBLaqAURyDa" data-name="Daisy Age">Daisy Age</a> as the b-side. <a href="spotify:album:1ejAsvOacb88wIwITOJgEy" data-name="Popping Candy">Popping Candy</a> came in March 2020, a five-song EP with a sunny, psychedelic sound.

&#39;Sonic&#39; saw a return to heavily layered shoegazing. It was given a cassette release as a four song EP by Stuttgart label Summer Darling Tapes in late 2022.

Spring 2024 brought the single &#39;Crush&#39;. Its soft, multi-layered instrumental is enriched by contributions from electro production maestro Mark Van Hoen (aka Locust) whose résumé includes collaborations with members of Slowdive, Seefeel and Lush. It also boasts exquisite additional vocals by Martha Bean.

Their next single &#39;Florida&#39; came in October 2024. Born of summer&#39;s end nostalgia and indebted both to contemporary dream pop and Fleetwood-esque soft rock: an uncharted aesthetic for Dayflower.

&#39;Young Sun&#39; was released April 2025, a fizzy rush of dayglo synths and buzzsaw guitar that teases Dayflower&#39;s second full length album COMFORT, scheduled for later in 2025.

The band are based in Leicester, a city that has seen them gig with Dublin noiseniks <a href="spotify:artist:7IdPmzvB3PugXieZE9vS4S" data-name="Gilla Band">Gilla Band</a>, Russian shoegazers Pinkshinyultrablast and Super Furry Animals&#39; offshoot <a href="spotify:artist:2nIdUgXgPRCLqutms15vxx" data-name="Gulp">Gulp</a>. It is also home to Candy Dust, a regular club night curated by the band.
