A Philadelphia vocalist who has done better (or at least achieved more recognition) as an actress than a singer, Deborah Washington recorded an LP for Ariola in the late '70s. It was heavily produced and arranged in prototype disco fashion, but contained some sassy, at times alluring, vocals. Unfortunately, neither of the singles released generated much momentum, and Washington's LP stiffed. Washington studied drama at Penn State and has appeared in such television shows as "Baretta," "Maude," and "What's Happening." ~ Ron Wynn
