Singer-songwriter Jacques Defoe and musician-producer Thomas Pronai have spent fifteen years honing a sonic vision that hovers somewhere between garage rock, surf, alt. country and power pop. The collaboration began with Defoe co-writing lyrics for Pronai's other projects, such as <a href="spotify:artist:0Phj7zob9gumZaDSSd2oFT" data-name="The New Mourning">The New Mourning</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7tZg5b6NvMm95cQdjYGoSz" data-name="Bo Candy & His Broken Hearts">Bo Candy & His Broken Hearts</a>. Soon the pair turned to Defoe's own compositions, an eclectic mix - some sordid, some sublime - that Pronai coaxed and crafted into completion.

Recorded in Pronai's analogue studio, sequestered in the rolling vineyards of Austria's eastern border, the debut LP, Touch of Hubris, recounts the first decade of a growing understanding. The new singles, The Master and Sleep, are the next step towards we don't know what.

And in the meantime, they joined up with guitarist Johannes Karremans for <a href="spotify:artist:1H682soH0eO6eRQc1ndNAl" data-name="Oslipop">Oslipop</a>, releasing the single Jacqueline II in June 2026; and an album to follow soon.
