Dennis Hauck is a critically acclaimed filmmaker and singer/songwriter. His music career began in high school, performing at local punk rock clubs around Atlanta, GA. After a long hiatus, Hauck returned to music in 2022 following the death of his friend and collaborator, late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Penning a song in her honor, Hauck released the single "<a href="spotify:album:7ah45gWxAwCqsRQReBTZMl" data-name="Halyna Hutchins">Halyna Hutchins</a>" on the first anniversary of her death. He continues to release new material and tour.
As a filmmaker, Hauck wrote, produced, and directed TOO LATE starring Oscar nominee <a href="spotify:artist:0HM33x7ygNCjJ5Pr32Z65J" data-name="John Hawkes">John Hawkes</a>. The film was hailed as "a masterwork" by the LA Times, "a dazzling debut" by Village Voice, and was a NY Times Critics' Pick. He is a recipient of the Kodak Auteur Award. As a prose writer, his short stories and essays have appeared in the New England Review, Chicago Quarterly Review, and Vassar Review.
