Desire for Sorrow is a Czech band formed in 2009, originally rooted in melodic black metal. After the success of their debut At Dawn of Abysmal Ruination (2014), extensive European and Mexican tours, and two more releases (The Rotten Brood EP and Visions), the band's style began to evolve. The pandemic led founding members Jiří Zíka and Marek Horváth to explore new musical directions, resulting in the 2024 single Give Me Your Eyes, which marked a turning point in their sound. Now shifting toward metalcore, post-hardcore, and alternative metal, the band continues this path with their upcoming single Frozen, out May 2025.
