DFL was formed by Monty Messex (guitar) and Crazy Tom (vocals) along with Adam Horovitz of the Beastie Boys (Bass) in 1991. During their original run, they released three albums, My Crazy Life (Grand Royal Records), Proud to Be and Grateful (Epitaph Records), before breaking up in 1997. Messex and Davis reunited the band in 2013 and released the first new material in 24 years, YRUDFL (SBAM Records), in 2021, to critical acclaim. The band now includes Patrick Sullivan on bass and Snare Jordan on drums. The band is working on new material with producer Fletcher Dragge (Pennywise) slated for a 2026 release.
