Diamond Rings was an electronic pop project created by Toronto musician John O’Regan.

Visually inspired by queer theory and androgynous trailblazers like David Bowie and Grace Jones, Diamond Rings paired glam aesthetics to a sound that melded electronic rhythms with distorted guitar and distinctive baritone vocals.

His debut release was the limited-edition 7" split single “All Yr Songs" (2009) which was self-produced via O'Regan's own Hype Lighter label. The accompanying music video featured goofy dance routines and cheesy green screen effects that earned unexpected praise from Pitchfork founder, Ryan Schrieber.

Returning with another 7" single “Wait & See” in 2010, O'Regan also released two more singles, “Show Me Your Stuff” and “Something Else”, in advance of his full-length debut, "Special Affections", via Montreal's Secret City Records. After a run of dates performing as direct support for Robyn on her iconic "Body Talk" tour, "Special Affections" was reissued in the US by Astralwerks in 2011.

In 2012, O'Regan released a follow-up full length, "Free Dimensional" via Astralwerks in the US and Secret City in Canada. He supported the release with appearances on the Late Show with David Letterman and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, in addition to supporting Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark on their "English Electric" tour.

O'Regan performed his final show as Diamond Rings in 2013 and is currently an art director.
