DIE HAPPY :: GUESS WHAT!
It was quiet about DIE HAPPY for 6 years, in April 2020 one of the most established rock bands in Germany made an impressive return with their ninth long player GUESS WHAT! "When Pop kills Rock’n’Roll we care!" Is a line of text in the song Kiss Me. "When I see the current charts, I feel sick," admits Marta Jandová, who has long been a superstar in her home country, the Czech Republic. "Just a level hit, primitive, unified pop or brain-burned gangster rap! What happened to the German music scene? That makes me really angry, but on the other hand it was extremely motivating to write a real and honest rock album against the general trend.”
“We are extremely proud and happy that after a long and difficult development process we finally have a new album. Everything was created by ourselves, whereby we were all busy with various other things and hardly had time for joint songwriting sessions. For this reason, we used the last two tours to collect ideas and try them out during extensive soundchecks - much to the disappointment of our crew. A song was even created during a concert in the Bochum Matrix when Marta spontaneously picked up the guitar and shouted into the mic "Die My Baby, ´cause you fucked me up and no one let’s me down". "Here I am" smashes Marta on the current hit single for the album and that's not an understatement: Marta and DIE HAPPY are back!
