Diomedes Díaz, known as "El Cacique de La Junta," was one of the greatest exponents of vallenato in Colombia. Born on May 26, 1957, in La Junta, La Guajira, he began his musical career in the 1970s. His unique style made him an iconic figure in the genre, selling over 20 million records, throughout his career. Among his most iconic albums are <a href="spotify:album:5sKPvJKVhhhYBPhs6kxbjM" data-name="Brindo Con El Alma">Brindo Con El Alma</a> (1986), known for the song "Sin Medir Distancias"; <a href="spotify:album:0FemNl3cjskKpjCTUj3fne" data-name="Titulo De Amor">Titulo De Amor</a> (1993), one of the best-selling albums of his career; and <a href="spotify:album:7I4aM5vyTvUTsmtnzwsI8X" data-name="Listo Pa' La Foto">Listo Pa' La Foto</a> (2010), with which he won a Latin Grammy in the Cumbia/Vallenato category that same year. Diomedes Díaz passed away on December 22, 2013, in Valledupar, leaving an indelible legacy in Colombian music.
