Djamel Laroussi is a virtuoso guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer. He was the first African to be admitted to the prestigious Musikhochschule in Cologne (Germany) and was graduated with honors in composition, jazz arrangements, guitar drums and percussion. He is left-handed and plays the guitar upside down without turning the strings the other way round. Experts rank him as one of the 20 best guitarists in the world (www.uncommon-sound.com). Djamel Laroussi is very popular Algeria, his native country and was the Algerian representative for UNICEF in 2009. He produced, among others, the albums "Etoile filante", "Live" and "3Marabouts".
In June and July 2010, he toured with Stevie Wonder's band as a musician on their entire European tour. Djamel worked with many big names in jazz, including Graham Haynes, Steve Williamson, Nelson Veras, Keith Copeland, Dave Liebman, Decebal Badila, Chico Freeman, Benny Golson, Billy Cobham, Richie Beirach, Munyungo Jackson, Jiggs Whigham, Ryan Carniaux and many others.
In the summer 2022 he performed his song "Etoile Filante" with the symphonic orchestra at the closing ceremony of the Mediterranean Games in Algeria, in the stadium of Oran in front of 100,000 spectators. Since 2022, he has been working intensively in the recording studio on new and extensive productions and videos clips.
