At age six, Uncle Tony gives him “The Eminem Show” and Sean Paul’s “Dutty Rock” along with a CD player. It’s been strictly music ever since for Montreal-based artist and producer DONATO.
It’s been a wild ride, one that’s taken him from drumming for high school metal bands, to playing guitar and bass in pop-rock cover gigs, to branching out solo, into the artist he is today.
His sound is a catchy mix of Indy pop with elements of hip-hop and R&B. It gained an international buzz when he collaborated with France’s Maesic on the dance-pop track ‘Like an Animal’. More recently, his single “Tomorrow” featuring Lessandra spun on Canadas top radio station “Virgin Radio” before officially being released, a rarity in the industry.
When not working on his own projects, DONATO’s studio is joined by other artists, where he's either producing or jumping on a track. Whatever it is, there’s always something on tap. Stay tuned for new music every month.
