What is your dream job? Are you living it? For four friends making music in New Jersey, DreamJob is their dream job. After meeting in socialist circles, Georgina, Steve, Nick, and Matt wanted to be in a band for universally simple reasons. To create and have fun. To contend with all the pressures of everyday life, DreamJob pulls from various alternative genres – indie rock, bedroom pop, shoegaze – to make the kind of music that makes those pressures feel smaller. Naturally, music and emotion follow each other and evolve beyond boxes. Together they help navigate the often overwhelming and exceedingly depressing capitalistic landscapes we find ourselves in. In the same way we cyclically re-examine the standards of a desired life, DreamJob’s music reflects on and criticizes the evironments that raised us. At this point, what does it even mean to have your dream job? In the end, DreamJob is collective work. The kind of work that rewards expression, friendship, creativity, and most of all, living.
