Drippy, the budding star from the Bronx is the first signee to the new partnership between DNR Music Group and Asylum Records. Though he didn’t start taking music seriously until a well-received performance at the legendary venue SOB’s in summer 2018, Drippy knew that the ability to put his trials and tribulations on wax has always been there. Drippy understands the drought that east coast Hip-Hop has faced since the increased popularity of the Chicago and Atlanta rap scenes that dominated the 2010s.
Taking after his predecessors and unapologetically slapping a unique twist on the grimy aesthetic of the five boroughs, Drippy already has two fast-paced singles under his belt: “Mak Talk” and “Hit A Lick”, which amassed nearly a hundred thousand views before they even hit streaming services. “Mak Talk”, an instant regional hit which showcases Drippy spitting jaw-dropping, Bronx-style bars from the jump – with no hook – received a co-sign from New York City gatekeeper @malbytheway ; it’s been a meteoric rise for the east coast golden child ever since. Although Drippy’s already found an identity in the neck-snapping, party-starter subgenre of rap, he has an even wider range of music still in the vault that he plans to release in 2025. This is just the beginning for Drippy, and the expansion of his rap style only means there are more fans and more acclaim to come.
