Drotoch

Based in Leeds, Hong Kong-Malaysian music artist and songwriter Ryan Nah produces songs under the project name Drotoch, encompassing multiple genres including Indie-Rock, Shoegaze, Dream-Pop, Avant-Garde, Lo-Fi, Synthwave, Neo-Psychedelia, Post-Rock and Noise, often combining both melodic and experimental sounds.

Using a few electric guitars, a MIDI keyboard, and microphone, he also produces and writes his music in a DIY and experimental fashion, intending to often sound lo-fi and obscurified.

Drotoch’s first album ‘through the broken fields’, which took inspirations ranging from Slacker-Rock to Bedroom-Pop, came out on April 20th 2022. Whilst a year later in 2023, he released his Shoegaze-influenced EP ‘lifas viator’ on April 14th, which also includes singles ‘Campbell’ and ‘Paperweight’.

His newest album ‘Crop’ released on January 14th 2024, whereas its songs form a sound fusion of shoegaze, new-wave, and indie folk.
