Eigenart was founded in 2003 by Claus Pieper and Werner Balzuweit, who discovered their passion for electronic music back in the 1980s. While Claus Pieper was intensively involved in the development of electronic instruments, Werner Balzuweit focussed on information technology. These different paths meant that they only joined forces again years later in order to unite their musical visions.
In the meantime, Claus Pieper had carved out an impressive career as a musician and shaped the rave sound of the 90s with his Genlog project. The two artists have now released six albums and numerous singles with Eigenart. Their music has appeared on renowned labels such as 4MPO, Zyx Music, Kju and Daredo. Since 2023, they have also been active on the popular deep house labels M-sol Deep and Tibetania Records, continuing their creative path in electronic music.
