Compared to likes of St. Vincent, PJ Harvey, and Florence + The Machine, Ella Fence is an artist who commands attention. Known for her genre-defying sound and magnetic presence, she brings power and vulnerability to every performance – from raw solo shows to electrifying sets with her five-piece band of drums, bass, guitars, and rich vocal layers.
In 2025, Ella joins Sofia Isella on her national tour, and launches Records With Friends, a collaborative series of new songs and reimagined Redux versions of her most popular tracks. She co-writes and records with bandmates Luke McDonald (John Steel Singers, Holiday Party), Lukae, Harry Fox, and Ayla, while continuing collaborations with Dan Swift (Snow Patrol, Passenger) and Scott Campbell (Alanis Morissette, Stevie Nicks). Ella also stars in the award-winning musical Roller Coaster (Everybody NOW!), staged at HOTA for Bleach Festival, winner of the 2024 Impact Award.
With over five million Spotify streams, Ella has earned eleven Gold Coast Music Award nominations (two wins) and a Best Development Artist nod at Australian Women in Music Awards. She’s performed internationally at Canadian Music Week (Toronto), The Great Escape (Brighton), and DNA BLN (Berlin), affirming her as a bold, globally resonant artist.
Ella has supported Kate Miller-Heidke, Washington, Montaigne, Baker Boy, and Katie Noonan, and appeared at Brisbane Festival, MONA, Caloundra Music Festival, Bleach, Commonwealth Games,* and the FIFA Fan Festival.
