Hi! I'm Emma. My first release was Rainbow Dust pt II / Dream Phone back in 2012 on Wavey Tones.
Another couple of releases followed, my debut album Blue Gardens came out in 2013. A lot of the imagery and the name of the album itself was inspired by the Great Gatsby and also the doc Grey Gardens, both of which I was obsessed with at the time, and themes of isolation in a big old house; a yearning for what a different life could be.
'LA Mermaid' on Astral Plane was me kinda transporting my sound to I guess a land of palm trees and sunshine at magic hour.
'Mindmaze' on Coyote Records obviously sampled the Encarta 96 computer game. Memory of life before the internet has been a constant influence on my sound. It felt like a different brand of freedom.
Gucci (!) used my music on a jewelry advert in 2018 which featured Tippi Hedren from Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds which has been one of the best things to happen to me!
You probably arrived here via my second album, Indigo Dream, which I released on Local Action in July 2020, or maybe you heard my music in Industry on HBO/BBC or in Elite on Netflix :)
or my Miami-vice inspired EP Change My Mind released in 2023.
