(e)motion engine is a 6 piece band that seeks to “score the life of a human being”. Disregarding loyalty to stylistic choices and rigid genre guidelines, (e)motion engine instead focuses on storytelling and human experience, with genre and style merely being tools to convey those stories.
2024 finds the band in its “v1” era, borrowing from Shoegaze, Emo, New Wave, and Pop, to craft soaring choruses and walls of sound, sharing tales of heartbreak, regret, longing, and love. (e)motion engine is a crack in the middle of the night, and sometimes you can’t tell if they’re gunshots, or fireworks.
Their debut single release, 'mlb' is a love-letter to the small, cute, and sometimes furry. The song is as direct as it is fleeting, lamenting both the joy, and pain, of watching something grow up before your eyes. 'mlb' reminds us that no matter how much things change, whether it be from a boy to his cat, or a mother to her son, “you’ll always be My Little Boy.”
