EP’s Trailer Park are back after eight years of silence!
Their last album, Lojsta & other stories from an island (2015), was hailed by fans and critics as a creative peak. But a follow up was far from a certainty.
The band went on an indefinite hiatus and the members persued other projects. Eric Palmqwist (lead singer and band leader) recorded three acclaimed solo albums and Ruben Engzell (bass) built his own music studio.
And it was in that studio, Studio Skutan, that the new album, Once when we were birds, took shape. The soundscape brings warm California vibes, beautifully adorned with vocal harmonies, steel guitars and mellotrones.
The band returns with a new found maturity and relaxed self esteem.
There’s even a hint of nostalgia, in that the album centers around childhood - both looking back at one’s own childhood but also reflecting on being a parent. Not least in the single Full moon Ruth, a song written to and for Eric’s daughter that deals with the ”love, pride and fears that come with the most important journey in your life” as Eric puts it.
