External

Formed in 2014, External is a forward-looking progressive/alternative metal group from Tampere, Finland. Though we may never truly know which influences or extremes of their musical palette will they embrace next, at the very core of External’s essence lies a strong emphasis on groove, emotional depth, and dynamics.

2018 saw the young band putting together their first album, functioning as a transitional period for them. The album combined their original thrash metal sound with new elements such as melodic singing, polymeters, emotional string sections and unconventional structures.

In 2019 the band gained attention and praise with two singles and music videos: ”Anhedonia” and ”Distant”. The latter has accumulated 180,000 streams on Spotify and was featured in Metal Hammer and Prog Magazine.

In 2020, during the pandemic-induced isolation, External worked on their EP "Stillness," which leaned more towards an alternative direction.

External&#39;s new album, &#39;Dreamscapes,&#39; was released on January 19th, 2024. This diverse, uniquely shaped concept album is mixed by Asger Mygind (<a href="spotify:artist:1HQjBwlj8FSHMhVaNQ4tEI" data-name="VOLA">VOLA</a>).
