Fears is Irish artist, musician and producer Constance Keane. Combining reflective electronics, acoustic samples, and haunting vocals with organic visuals, Fears invites the listener on an ethereal journey, blurring the boundaries between music and visual art. Her minimalist approach centres on emotive subjects, which are all-at-once deeply personal yet remarkably universal.
Fears released her debut album ‘Oíche’ in 2021, which was named as one of The Guardian Readers' Top Albums of 2021, CLASH Magazine's Top Albums of 2021, and the Irish Independent's Top Irish Albums of 2021. Oíche was self-recorded and self-produced in three bedrooms and the Domino Recordings studio. Pieced together over five years, Oíche chronicles growth through challenges, instability, and relationship changes both with one's self and others.
Gaining a reputation for immersive live shows, highlights include Eurosonic, SXSW, Other Voices, Body & Soul, Quarter Block Party, Ireland Music Week, and more.
Fears has received acclaim across the world, with her music being covered by The Guardian, iD Magazine, The Sunday Times, DJ Mag Spain, Hot Press, Sunday Business Post, Irish Tatler, Noisey, Huck Magazine, BBC Arts, the Irish independent & Nialler9.
As a founding member of critically acclaimed feminist punk band M(h)aol, Fears has toured Europe and the UK.
Her fashion design has been featured in Vogue Italia, The Sunday Independent, Irish Country Magazine, STELLAR Magazine, and more.
