Award winning and Emmy and BAFTA nominee, Federico Jusid is an Argentine-Spanish composer based between Madrid and Los Angeles. He has composed the score for over 70 feature films and more than 45 television series, and his music has also been performed in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls.
His work includes the score for the Academy Award®-winner for Best Foreign Film "The Secret in Their Eyes" which earned him a Goya Award nomination for Best Original Score. He has also composed the original soundtrack for the series "A Gentleman in Moscow", starring Ewan McGregor, as well as the score for "The English", which was nominated for a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Award for Best Original Score: Fiction and the animated miniseries "Watership Down", for which he received an Emmy Award nomination.
He has recently composed the soundtrack for the acclaimed Argentine series "El Eternauta" and created the score for the series "A Thousand Blows" from Steven Knight, the creator of "Peaky Blinders".
Among his compositions for the concert stage are "Bidaia", an accordion concerto dedicated to Iñaki Alberdi and performed by the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra at the Teatro Colón; "Kinetic Overture", premiered by the RTVE Orchestra at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid; and "Tango Rhapsody", a piece for two pianos and symphony orchestra commissioned by the Tiempo-Lechner duo, which has been performed worldwide.
