From winning the 2017 Best Unsigned Band at the UK Unsigned Music Awards, Five Days North have gradually evolved into the encompassing and emotionally charged outfit they are today. Bringing with them heart-on-the-sleeve lyricism, the band have released a smattering of singles that have turned heads and broken hearts in their native Manchester and further afield.
Festival appearances at Dot2Dot and Kendal Calling as well as headline shows at iconic venues such as Manchester’s Academy 3 and Gorilla have been integral to the band’s ascent. Their first single of 2020 ‘Take me Higher’ was XS Manchester's ‘Track of the week’. Follow up releases ‘Heaven Hold Us’, 'Champagne Shots' and ‘Colours (In My Mind)’ were warmly received, with the latter crowned BBC Introducing Cumbria's ‘Track of the Week’.
At a time when the country seems to be in something of a tail-spin, Five Days North's own inimitable brand of indie-pop provides the perfect antithesis to any fear and uncertainty; their inherent upbeat optimism embodied perfectly within shimmering guitar lines and button bright electronics. Eschewing the indie-rock swagger harboured by much of their contemporaries, Five Days North are a breath of fresh air.
