Fix Everything is boundless hope despite overwhelming dread. They play contorted post-punk music laced with unruly psychedelia, sludge and hardcore, embracing the forlorn feeling of imminent collapse while staying cruelly optimistic in the face of Everything.
On their debut album HELLEND VLAK, the Amsterdam-based trio hurtle through transitions and themes, shuffling confidence and despair along with musical genres in their deck of tracks. Never Mind The Hype notes ‘the band is guided by intuition, resulting in post-punk in its most gritty, trippy form’ and OOR heard an album that’s ‘somewhat occult... fitting the times, ... a dark, unsettling and even exhilarating trip’.
The members – who have their roots in Dutch underground acts such as Those Foreign Kids, Tijger Salto and Stairs to Nowhere – recorded the album at studio Erik’s House in Amsterdam. The album was produced and mixed by Casper van der Lans, and mastered by Mikey Young.
