When in 2016, Marvin, Igor, Simon and Marvin convened in a rehearsal space to form FLORAL SHOP, they sought to create an atmospheric flavour of independent pop music that reflected their individual backgrounds and identities as musicians. Combining their skills as producers and multi-instrumentalists, they started to explore the boundaries of modern pop, paying equal attention to the vocals of singer Igor and the rhythms, melodies and textures that surround them.
With their debut EP PARASOLS, released in June 2019, the quartet from Münster and Cologne have encapsulated that spirit in five tracks that show them in different constellations and setups – from sunlit opener Out Of Touch to explosive closer Anyplace, FLORAL SHOP manage to fuse vibrant, melodic guitar pop with the texture and versatility of modern electronica. Their evocative, versatile productions have garnered support from blogs like NBHAP, Indietronica, We love that sound and I Heart Moosiq, as well as receiving airplay by college radios around Germany.
