Flute Navin(a.k.a Navin Chandar Sekhar) is a versatile flautist who has collaborated with leading composers, exceptional vocalists and instrumentalists across the globe. His work with 2-time Oscar winner, A.R.Rahman, on film music albums such as Slumdog Millionaire, shot him to stardom.
Navin has collaborated with legendary Indian musicians such as Grammy winner Vikku Vinayakram, Kadri Gopalnath and Grammy Nominee Bombay Jayashri for contemporary music albums. One of his noteworthy live performances was the recreation of the album Nothing But Wind in 2010, composed by one of the biggest composers from India, Maestro Ilayaraja, where, he delivered as the key solo performer along with Maestro Ilayaraja’s orchestra. His work with Germany-based Babelsberg Film Orchestra during their tour of India by being the key solo instrumentalist for the concerto titled, Classic Incantations featuring A.R.Rahman in 2012 was critically acclaimed. He was also the principal instrumentalist in the Sydney Orchestra during their India tour in 2017.
Through his association with world music record label EarthSync, Navin has collaborated with musicians from across the globe including Israel, Myanmar and Australia apart from touring and performing at International Music festivals including the Perth International Arts Festival.
Navin has also composed, produced and arranged the scores and tracks for several Indian films and over a hundred Television commercials for leading Indian brands.
