Sreekanth Hariharan is a Musician/ Playback Singer hailing from Trivandrum, Kerala & currently residing in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Born to T. S. Hariharan & singer Dr. B. Arundhathi, he hails from a family of musicians. He entered the world of Playback Singing at the age of 19 & has rendered songs in languages Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi & Bengali for composers including A. R. Rahman, Yuvan Shankar Raja, D. Imman, etc. He is trained in Carnatic (Vocal & Violin) & Hindustani & has completed ‘Visharad’ in the latter. His first foray into playback was through reality shows in Malayalam, with the composers Jassie Gift & Alphons Joseph. Beside music, he has completed his bachelors in Architecture.
After graduation, he was selected to be a part of two international Folk Music Camps - ‘Ethno Flanders 2017 & Ethno Germany 2017’, which led him to learn, interact & perform with young musicians from over 20 countries across various Traditional genres of Music.
He was a finalist of ‘Super Singer 6’ & received an opportunity to sing for the Oscar-winning composer, Mr. A. R. Rahman, the first being ‘Unakaga’ from ‘Bigil’ & later on ‘Sofia’ from ’99 Songs’, ‘Shivoham’ from PS 2, ‘Osarattum Pathu Thala’ from Pathu Thala, ‘Devaralan Aattam’ from PS 2 (Malayalam), ‘Chiriyazhakumay’, ‘Hey Adheera’ & Thumbi Thullal from ‘Cobra’ (Malayalam).
His original composition, ‘Idhu Kanava’ was adjudged the First under World Music in the International Songwriting Competition.
