Fred Schreiber

Radio and TV presenter, inventor of legendary TV formats such as “broadcast without names” and “Welcome Austria”, director, screenwriter speaker and visual artist – and now also a musician? This is not entirely correct, because the native of Munich “Fred Schreiber” was singer and songwriter long before his successes on other fields. Two indie rock longplayer with the “wrong friends” and a solo album gave him regular airplay in all German radio stations. In the case of the Fm4 hit “Dort” – a collaboration with the Italian producer “Nicola Conte” – even worldwide.

There is hardly anyone else in Austria who thinks of the term “Riviera Pop” more than Fred Schreiber, who brings the Mediterranean coasts a good deal closer with his mix of bossa, rock, jazz and Latin. Now he has made a dream come true and thought big. Because for the upcoming album “More than swing” he has gathered well a dozen jazz musicians from all over the world, to implement what he had been wandering in his head for years: His Alltimefavourite Indierockhits once again to dress and in the suits of Swing, Bigband, Latin and jazz stuck. Stefan Thaler, a genius on the bass and in the arrangement, helped with the change.

So on his new album are songs by Franz Ferdinand, White Stripes, Strokes, Eagles of Death Metal, Dandy Warhols, Raconteurs, Oasis and a few more. In addition, a Bossa Nova – own composition called “Vienna by the sea” – which has become the summer hit of the year 2018.
