Frerick den Haan is a pianist and composer whose music sits at the intersection of impressionism, romanticism, and film music. Hailing from The Hague, Frerick creates a
world of his own through his narrative compositions — a place to escape the everyday rush, where chaos transforms into calm and clarity.

He draws inspiration from classical masters like Ravel, Debussy, and Chopin, as well as
from jazz and contemporary composers and bands such as Alan Silvestri, Chilly Gonzales,
Jóhann Jóhannsson, and Death Cab for Cutie. Always in search of the perfect balance
between classical, impressionist, film, and indie music, Frerick emphasizes on narratives in his work.

As an independent artists, his music has been embraced by millions of listeners and featured on major editorial playlists on Spotify and Apple Music. In 2021, his tracks were included three times in a row on Spotify playlists such as Classical New Releases, Instrumental Study, Atmospheric Piano, and Piano Chill, as well as Apple Music’s top instrumental playlist. He composed the multi-nominated score for the short animated film L’Étranger, which was screened at both national and international film festivals.

In late 2023, Dutch music platform 3voor12 (VPRO) named Frerick one of the year’s
standout surprises. In 2024, his music was featured multiple times on BBC Radio 3, where it
was curated by Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery and musician Niall Breslin.
